Advisors in Exploring Advising are here to help you with any of the following:
- Exploring different areas of interest and major options
- Provide assistance navigating the petition process
- Offering support and guidance in dealing with a complicated or challenging academic situation
- Being a starting point with any question or concern you may have
Speak with an Exploring Advisor
Advisors are available for in-person, phone, and remote appointments. Students with general questions have the option to use a chat platform to speak with our front desk during hours of operation.
Advising for Incoming or Transfer Exploring Students
If you are looking to schedule an advising appointment for orientation, please use the "schedule an appointment" link in the orientation advising invitation sent to your UO email account. You should have received this invitation once you completed the mandatory academic advising prep module.
Ask General Questions at the Virtual Front Desk
If you have a general question about advising, chat with our front desk using Microsoft Teams.
How to Access Virtual Front Desk
- Download Microsoft Teams from the UO Service Portal and follow instructions to install the application
- Click the "Start Chat Session" button to the right.
- Log in using your Duck ID
Schedule an Advising Appointment with Navigate
Phone, Zoom, Teams, and in-person appointments are available. You will be able to select which you prefer when you book your appointment.
If you would like to make an appointment, please book online with the Navigate app, a mobile tool that helps students from orientation through graduation. Access Navigate from your desktop or download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play. View your class schedule, schedule advising appointments, explore majors and careers, and more.

Weekly, 9:00A – 4:00PM
*There may be limited appointment availability during drop-in weeks
How to Make an Appointment:
- Open the Navigate app (recommended) or the Navigate Desktop Version
- Log in with your Duck ID
- Go to "Appointments — Schedule an Appointment"
- Select "Exploring Advising”
- Select the topic of your appointment
- Select "Find an Available Time"
- Select meeting type and staff member
- Input your phone number and any additional comments
- Indicate if you would like text reminders
- Select "Confirm Appointment"
Join Exploring Advising Drop-In
Come to Oregon 101 or call the office to join the Drop-in queue. Drop-in advising is only available in Weeks 1, 2, 8 & 9 of the term.
Availability:
Weeks 1, 2 (Monday only): Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. PT
Weeks 8, 9: Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. PT
How to Access Drop-in Advising:
- Come to 101 Oregon Hall, check in at the front desk, and join the queue.
- Call our front desk at 541-346-3211; request to be placed in the queue – you may request a call back or a remote meeting.
