  • Understand and be able to discuss the purpose of a liberal arts education and degree
  • Understand the three main components of the UO Degree: Core Education, Majors, Electives
  • Understand University Requirements: Credit totals, Upper Division Requirement, Residency Requirement, ABCDP* Requirement
  • Have a thorough understanding of Core Education Requirements (Writing, Cultural literacy, BA Language, BS Math, and Area of Inquiry Requirements)
  • Understand and be able to articulate the meaning behind the core education requirements
  • Be aware of the colleges, majors and minors that exist at the UO and the resources for sharing this information with students
  • Understand and know how to locate information on major and minor requirements
  • Learn how to summarize, compare and contrast various majors and minors while working with exploring students or students making a major change
