Meg (M-egg), she/her/hers
Describe your academic background and areas of interest.
I spent ten years of my career teaching and living abroad in Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates, and Thailand. I was a language and adult basic skills instructor before moving into student affairs; I have worked in global education, tutoring and academic support, and academic advising. My goal is to help increase educational and professional opportunities for all individuals.
Describe your "exploring" experience as a student.
I feel like I have been an explorer my whole life! As undergrad I started out exploring in a science field, but soon learned I was drawn to education and teaching. Every exploring experience I have moved through has helped me to learn more about myself and the opportunities around me. I view exploring as a chance to learn and grow personally and professionally.
What do you like to do when you are not advising?
You can usually find me doing something outdoors such as backpacking, hiking, cycling, running, or gardening. You will probably also find me planning my next trip to some part of the world I haven't yet explored.
