Big things are happening at the University of Oregon!
The University of Oregon is poised to embark on an exciting mission to bolster student success and we are looking for committed, diverse and talented professionals to champion our efforts! We know students want to achieve personal, academic and professional success, so we have developed a new coordinated, holistic advising model to support those aspirations. We have many career opportunities at the University of Oregon, including:
- Academic and Career Advisors
- Academic Case Managers
- Career Readiness Coaches
- Multicultural Academic Advisors (coming soon!)
- Academic and Career Coordinators
- Degree Progression Specialists
Professionals for these positions should love working with a diverse student population, with a passion to help them succeed in their academic, career, and personal ventures.
Our new integrated academic and career model will focus student advising around one of six central themes called “Flight Paths.” Each thematic Flight Path will guide students in exploring and planning their academic and career paths aligned with their values, skills, and interests. We are excited to launch this proven approach to enhancing the advising experience for our students while supporting their timely graduation from the University and preparation for their careers. This exciting growth is made possible through significant investment by President Michael Schill, who has demonstrated ongoing commitment to the value of academic advising.
All of this exciting new work will take place in Willie and Don Tykeson Hall -- a building dedicated to student sucess and the home of the College of Arts and Sciences. Tykeson Hall will integrate academic and career advising, helping students to not only navigate their academic program, but envision career possibilities once they've completed their degree program. In addition to the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office, the building will be home to the University Career Center and the Division of Equity and Inclusion.
