Tykeson Drop-Ins and Appointments

We know this is a challenging time for our students and communities, and advisors are here to help.
Tykeson Academic and Career Advisors are available via Microsoft Teams for Drop-In Advising and 30 Minute Appointments for current students.


Online Drop-In Advising (10-15 minutes via Microsoft Teams)

Monday-Friday: 10:00 AM-3:00 PM*

Online Drop-In Advising is designed to address your most immediate advising questions and concerns.  Your advisor will engage you in conversation from a generalist perspective.

Advising topics covered in Online Drop-Ins:

  • Quick Schedule Questions (current term)
  • General Questions about:
    • Core Education
    • Campus Deadlines, Policies/Procedures
    • How to’s (enroll, use the catalog, read degree guide, etc.)
    • Referrals to Campus Resources
    • Start Academic and Career Exploration/Planning

To use these chat functions, you will need to either use a laptop/desktop computer or have Microsoft Teams downloaded on your mobile device.

Prepare for Your Online Drop-In Advising Session:

  • Online Drop-In Advising will occur over the phone or computer/smartphone using Microsoft Teams.  “Teams” is free to the UO community.  Please download Microsoft Teams to your smartphone and/or computer.
  • Set up your Microsoft Teams account with your UO e-mail address.
  • When an advisor is available, the advisor will call you via Teams. If we are unable to get in touch with you through Teams, your advisor will call you at the phone number you provided.

 

30 Minute Online Appointments via Microsoft Teams

Available most days: 8:30 AM-4:30 PM

Online Appointments are designed to address long-term planning questions and other detailed concerns with an advisor specializing in majors/minors within a Flight Path.

Advising topics covered in 30 Minute Online Appointments:

  • Detailed review and updating of your degree guide
  • In-depth Academic and Career Exploration/Planning
  • Academic Standing
