Pre-Health Scholarships


John Jay & Corabelle Rogers Memorial Scholarship

An annual scholarship awarded to an outstanding undergraduate who plans a career in medicine. Applicants must be eligible for financial aid and must have completed some academic work at the University of Oregon.

To apply complete the General University Scholarship application through the office of Student Financial Aid. Make sure you have officially declared pre-med as your professional objective. We will only review applications for this scholarship for students who have declared pre-med. You may designate pre-med as your professional objective by completing a form in 364 Oregon Hall.

Award : $2,700. The award is made through the Office of Financial Aid.

Deadline : February 1, 2008

John Fielding Ambrose Medical Scholarship

An annual scholarship awarded to an outstanding undergraduate who plans a career in medicine. Applicants must have completed some academic work at the University of Oregon.

To apply complete the General University Scholarship application through the office of Student Financial Aid. Make sure you have officially declared pre-med as your professional objective. We will only review applications for this scholarship for students who have declared pre-med. You may designate pre-med as your professional objective by completing a form in 364 Oregon Hall.

Award : $1,200. The award is made through the Office of Financial Aid.

Deadline : February 1, 2008

Glenn and Marjorie Keiper Pre-Medical Scholarship

Glenn and Marjorie Keiper Pre-Medical Scholarship is a one-year scholarship awarded to an outstanding undergraduate who plans a career in medicine. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic achievements and financial need. The scholarship may be used to cover tuition only and is renewable for one subsequent undergraduate year. This scholarship is available to college juniors. GPA requirement: 3.5. Student must be a resident of Oregon. The selection process for this scholarship is competitive. The scholarship committee considers academic performance, financial need, and the student must have declared a career objective of medicine to be eligible.

Minnie Mordan Pre-Medical Scholarship

The Minnie Mordan Pre-Medical Scholarship is a one-year scholarship awarded to an outstanding undergraduate who plans a career in medicine. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement. This scholarship is available to college sophomores, college juniors, and college seniors. The selection process for this scholarship is competitive. The scholarship committee considers academic performance and the student must have declared a career objective of medicine to be eligible.

William and Marjorie Shearon Memorial Scholarship

A one-time only merit based award to an outstanding student accepted to a United States medical school. Applicants must submit a completed AMCAS form and MCAT scores to Karen Cooper, 364 Oregon Hall, and indicate which medical school the applicant will be attending. Applications are due by May 30th.

Award : The amount of the award varies depending on account earnings for the year. The award is made through the financial aid office of the medical school.

Kenneth A.J. MacKenzie Scholarship

A four year, merit based scholarship awarded to an outstanding student accepted to and attending Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine. Applicants must submit a completed AMCAS form and MCAT scores to Karen Cooper, 364 Oregon Hall, by May 30th.

Award : A total of $4,300 divided over four years. Award made through the Office of Financial Aid at OHSU.

Thomas Bleakney Pre-Dentistry Scholarship

 

The Thomas bleakney pre-dentistry Scholarship is a one-year scholarship awarded to an outstanding undergraduate who plans a career in dentistry. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement. This scholarship is available to college sophomores, college juniors, and college seniors. The selection process for this scholarship is competitive. The scholarship committee considers academic performance and the student must have declared a career objective of dentistry to be eligible.

We will only review applications for this scholarship for students who have declared pre-dentistry.
