Mid-Year Orientation

To sign up for an orientation session you will log onto DUCKWEB with your student I.D. and PAC number (these numbers are mailed in a letter from admissions that acknowledges they have received your application).

 Mid-Year Orientations

  • MAY PROGRAM--TRANSFER STUDENTS ADMITTED FOR FALL or SUMMER 2008
    • MONDAY, MAY 19, 2008**
      12:30 to 5:00p.m., EMU Ballroom Lobby
      **Students are eligible to attend this program if they are transferring with 36 or more credits and if they:

      1. Apply by March 15
      2. Are admitted by April 20
      3. Submit the Intent to Register Form and pay $200 Advance Tuition Deposit by May 13
      4. Register for May Advising by May 13 online via DuckWeb at duckweb.uoregon.edu

For further questions regarding the eligibility requirements for the May program, please contact the Office of Admissions. If you cannot attend the program in May, you may sign up for IntroDUCKtion or attend Week of Welcome in September.

Previous Coursework

If you have completed college coursework since you have submitted a transcript to the University of Oregon and/or are currently enrolled in classes, please bring a list of those courses so that your adviser can accurately help you plan your schedule. Your adviser will have information about coursework that has already been evaluated.

What to Bring

  • Copy of Advanced Placement Scores, if available
  • Transfer Evaluation Report and Degree Audit Report
  • Transcripts of any college work completed since UO admission
  • Pencil and calculator

Placement Testing

During orientation you may need to take math and/or foreign language placemenet tests. Placement options will be presented at the advising workshop. The following website may be useful to you in preparing for your placement tests, http://testing.uoregon.edu

International Students

If you are an International Student, you will need to attend both the Orientation sponsored by the International Student and Scholar Services and one of the New Student Advising Sessions noted above.

International students whose native language is not English are required to take the Academic English for International Students (AEIS) placement test. Please bring your AEIS placement results to your academic advising session. If you have not yet taken this placement test, please contact Abe Schafermeyer or the AEIS GTF in International Student and Scholar Services (330 Oregon Hall, Ph. 541-346-3206).

Parking

Program participants who plan to attend a Monday program may obtain a day (8:00am-5:00pm) parking permit for $5.00 either from the Information Kiosk at 13th Avenue and Beech Street or from the Department of Public Safety in Straub Hall (346-5444). Day permit parking is available in the parking lot at 17th and Columbia and 13th and Agate Street. Please note that a parking permit does not allow you to park in any "reserved" or "metered" spaces.

Program participants who plan to attend a Sunday program may park, without charge, on Sunday only at the following two lots: 17th and Columbia (enter from Columbia) and 13th and Agate (enter from 13th). You may park at any "metered" space without charge on SUNDAY ONLY, however, please do not park in "reserved" parking spaces.
